Theft of collection objects

Actions

  • Report the theft to security (if any);
  • Stay on the spot until you receive assistance;
  • Keep people away from the place where the theft took place (If possible, evacuate and close space).

Warning

  • Make sure no useful evidence for research is removed or destroyed;
  • The safety of people and the importance of the objects will always weigh heavier than retaining the culprit!

Hazardous Vapors endangering collection objects

Actions

  • Report to security (if any);
  • Do not light fire, do not strike a match or use a lighter, do not smoke;
  • Open windows, if possible;
  • Do not touch electrical switches (lights, appliances, etc.);
  • Leave the space and close it.

Warning

  • Warn everyone in adjacent rooms.

Power Failure

Actions

  • If possible, turn all electrical equipment off and remove the plugs from the sockets;
  • If possible, leave the area using the nearest (emergency) exit;
  • Provide assistance where necessary;
  • If it is too dark for you to move safely, stay in the room where you are;
  • If you get locked up during the power cut, such as in an elevator or behind automatic doors; stay calm and let them know you are there by pressing an alarm button or via the (mobile) phone.

Warning

  • When power resumes, wait a few minutes before switching everything on again.

Bomb Alert

  • Talk quietly to the reporter of the bomb, without overly stretching time;
  • Do not argue with the reporter of the bomb;
  • Try to write down the name of the person reporting a bomb
  • Do not touch objects from the collection, unless absolutely necessary.

Warning

  • Avoid escalation if you catch the perpetrator red handed;
  • The safety of persons and property are more important than catching the perpetrator
  • Try to obtain the following information:
    • The exact location of the bomb.
    • The time of explosion of the bomb.
    • Why the bomb was placed.
    • What demands does the caller have.
  • Note the following during the interview:Note the following during the interview:
    • Man/woman
    • Young/old
    • Accent
    • Is a text being read or is it a spontaneous speach
    • Background noise
  • Follow instructions of security and leave the building if told.
